Everybody sleeps, whether a lot or a little, we all do it. As children, getting sleep is instilled into our everyday routine; but as we grow older it seems that the importance of a good night's rest loses it’s value. We fight off the urge to sleep because we have far too many tasks and projects that need to be completed first. But regardless of your age, your job, or whatever you have on your to-do list, you need sleep! However, in today's 24 hour, fast-paced world, sleep has begun to have a negative connotation. Many adults see it as an unnecessary task or a sign of laziness.
This mentality towards sleep is not only incorrect but also unhealthy. My goal with this exhibition is to correctly inform people about sleep and it's significance in our everyday lives through interactive experience. By juxtaposing the importance of sleep with the importance of financial responsibility, the 24 Hour Mind bank was created. The 24 Hour Mind is an engaging learning exhibit that encourages viewers, just like their financial health, to be more involved with their sleep habits.
